According to Football Transfers, Brighton and Hove Albion will be open to offers for Kaoru Mitoma at the end of the season, following their acquisition of Ibrahim Osman.
Osman, a 19-year-old winger from Ghana, is scheduled to join Brighton on July 1st, for which the Premier League club will be paying just under €20 million to Norwegian side Nordsjaelland. And it seems his talent is promising enough for Brighton to start planning for 2024/25 without Mitoma, one of their best players at the moment.
Mitoma, 26, is known for his pace and dribbling skills. The Japan international represents a real attacking threat coming in from the left flank, though this season his numbers aren’t too impressive – three goals and six assists in 25 appearances in all competitions. Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Barcelona are all said to be keeping a close eye on the situation.
Barcelona have apparently hoped to use Ansu Fati, currently on loan at Brighton, as a part of a deal for Mitoma. However, Brighton signing Osman has reduced their chances of striking such an agreement, by reducing Fati’s value to Roberto De Zerbi’s team. Given their financial problems, the Catalans aren’t expected to compete seriously against the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea.
