Championship promotion hopefuls Brighton and Hove Albion have signed Steve Sidwell on loan from Stoke City for the rest of the season, according to Talksport.
The thirty-three year old had made just one league appearance for the Potters so far this season, has been allowed to leave to help the Seagull’s on their promotion push.
Sidwell moved to Stoke from Fulham on a free transfer in the summer of 2014, while he has also played for Aston Villa, Chelsea and Reading in the Premier League.
He has previously had a loan spell with Brighton in the 2002/03 campaign whilst on the books of Arsenal, when he made scored five goals in just twelve appearances.
Internationally he was capped five times for England’s U21s but has never been recognised at senior level.
Brighton currently sit third in the Championship, six points behind leaders Hull City and can now be backed at 33/1 to win the division.
