Premier League newcomers Brighton & Howe Albion have signed a deal with Canadian teenager Jordan Araujo, the National Post has confirmed.
The 18-year-old midfield talent took part of Brighton’s under-18 training camp in Portugal this July and apparently left a positive impression on the English club.
Araujo was later invited to join the club in England for several exhibition matches during which he did more than enough to earn a contract offer from the Premier League side.
Jordan Araujo rose through the renowned Toronto-based academy ANB. Currently a member of Ottawa Fury, Jordan Araujo was taken in the second round of the 2017 MLS SuperDraft by FC Dallas.
Araujo will join the youth ranks at Brighton & Howe Albion, hoping to continue his progression and get into the first team as soon as possible.
Brighton are currently sitting in 14th place in the Premier League standings with 8 points to their name after as many rounds.
Chris Hughton’s men travel to London Stadium on Friday to face West Ham in a game they have been priced at huge 15/4 betting odds to claim all three points.
