Brighton have managed to get stay in the Premier League by a thread and this summer they are prepared to make sure they never get so close to relegation again. After bringing in Graham Potter from Swansea as their new manager, replacing Chris Hughton, Brighton have now confirmed their first big signing of the summer – Leandro Trossard from Genk.
Trossard is a 24-year-old winger who was part of the title-winning campaign for Genk in Belgium’s Jupiler League and he signed a four-year contract with the Seaguls.
He joins for a fee thought to be around £15 million after starring for Genk last season, contributing with 14 goals and seven assists in the league alone.
“We are delighted to welcome Leandro to the club and excited about the impact he can have for us,” new manager Graham Potter told the club’s website. He’s an attack-minded player who had a very impressive season last year in helping Genk win the league title. At 24 he also brings good experience, having captained the side and also featured many times in the Europa League.”
