Millie Bright has set her sights on European glory after Chelsea’s incredible comeback against Manchester City in the Women’s Champions League.
Women’s Super League leaders Chelsea kept their quadruple hopes alive after a stunning 3-0 win over City on Thursday, overturning a 2-0 deficit from the first leg to triumph 3-2 on aggregate.
City had progressed from all nine of their previous Champions League knockout stage ties when winning the first leg, yet Chelsea were 3-0 up by half-time thanks to goals from Sandy Baltimore, Nathalie Bjorn and Mayra Ramirez.
Chelsea finished with 2.73 expected goals from 22 shots, with 11 of those hitting the target.
And with Barcelona up next in the semi-finals, captain Bright sees no reason why Chelsea cannot go on to secure the Champions League title for the first time.
“We were never in doubt. We had full confidence in ourselves. We could have had way more than three goals,” said Bright, as quoted by BBC Sport.
“[We have an] unbelievable mentality and desire to come back. It was a true Chelsea performance.
“We are a new team, we are on a new journey, we are in a new era. Bring it on.

“We had all the belief coming into this game that we were capable of turning it around.
“We were fully confident and [knew we] just needed to be ruthless. It was a true Chelsea performance. The fans were incredible.
“It’s all about the mentality and belief and everyone stepping up and delivering.”
Chelsea boss Sonia Bompastor took Lyon to last season’s Champions League final, in which her team went down to Barca.
And even though a quadruple is very much in the offing in her debut season, Bompastor insisted Chelsea cannot get ahead of themselves.
“We’ll do everything possible to make that happen but, as you know, Barcelona have a lot of experience and talent in the squad,” said Bompastor.
“In football, everything is possible. I will bring all the confidence we need to go into those two games but first of all we want to enjoy this, because it was not easy.”
City, meanwhile, can still salvage some silverware from what has been an underwhelming campaign. They take on rivals Manchester United in the Women’s FA Cup semi-finals on April 13, and are fourth in the WSL.
Interim coach Nick Cushing said: “I believe this club should and will be fighting for trophies, whether it’s in the Champions League, the league or other two cup competitions.
“We’ll continue to do that. We know what we have to play for now, there’s an FA Cup final, with a semi against United coming up, and to fight for the Champions League places, where we’re chasing down United and Arsenal.
“The clarity of what we need to do is there, we have to find the solutions now to be competitive in those games.”
