Bristol City 19/20 to beat Wigan Athletic in Sunday’s Championship contest

Competition: Championship

Market: Bristol City win

Odds: 19/20 @ Bet 365

With the chance to potentially climb to the top of the Championship, Bristol City will welcome an inconsistent Wigan to Ashton Gate on Saturday lunchtime.

Starting with the hosts, picking up a 2-1 win over Charlton in midweek and bouncing back after their shock defeat away at Luton last weekend, Lee Johnson will be excited by his side’s form entering November. Sat fourth and just three points adrift of league leaders West Brom, a huge part of Bristol City’s promotion charge has come down to their continued performances at Ashton Gate. The Robbins have landed back-to-back victories in front of their own supporters and have not tasted defeat on home soil since the opening weekend. With the mood in their camp at a continued high, Bristol should be confident of extending their recent run this weekend.

As for the visitors, suffering injury-time heartbreak away at Derby on Wednesday and suffering a 1-0 defeat on the road, Wigan have continued on an inconsistent spell. Despite continuing to save their best performances for the DW, Paul Cook’s men have really struggled while on their travels. The Latics have now lost their last three consecutive matches outside of Wigan and are yet to record a victory on the road since opening the 2019/2020 campaign. Also failing to find the net on their travels in almost 300 minutes of action, we’re backing a home victory this weekend.
