Danish giants Brondby have confirmed they are negotiating a deal with Liverpool that could see them sign defender Daniel Agger from Anfield.
The Denmark international has been heavily linked with a summer exit, and Liverpool Echo revealed that the experienced defender was set to return to the club where it had all started for him.
Brondby have since moved to confirm the news by releasing an official statement earlier today.
“Brondby IF can confirm that there is dialogue with Liverpool FC and Daniel Agger about a move to Brondby IF,” the statement read.
Daniel Agger has another two years left on his deal at Anfield, but it is believed he will leave the Reds on a cut-price deal in the coming days.
The 29-year-old began his career at Brondby and he was sold to Liverpool in the summer of 2005. Agger has since featured in 175 Premier League matches and scored 9 goals in the process.
He has been an important member of Denmark national team ever for some nine years now, earning 64 caps and scoring 10 goals.
