(GSM) – Former Hull City boss Phil Brown admits he is ready to take Tigers job again and criticized George Boateng for his unknown agenda.
Temporary boss Iain Dowie failed to keep the Tigers in the Premier League after Hull put Brown on gardening leave in March.
Now Brown faces talks over his contract with chairman Adam Pearson and club owner Russell Bartlett on Wednesday.
Asked if he might return after his apparent exit, Brown said: “Nothing in football surprises me.
“Let’s see what they’ve got to say. I’ve got to make sure that I go into this meeting fresh and the ultimate goal for me is, where does my career go?”
“I just want it to be honourable. If it’s closure, then give me what I’m due and appreciate what I’ve done for the club in the last three and a half years,” he explained.
Brown claimed he expected to win more points than Dowie had, saying: “I was still looking at four wins in the last nine games.
“I’m not going to disrespect Iain Dowie but I’d earmarked two or three other fixtures that could have accumulated maybe 15 points,” former boss said.
Brown also revealed his dismay at his managerial style being blasted by Hull midfielder George Boateng.
He added: “It was very disappointing. I had a good working relationship with George but why he did what he did, you can only ask him that.
“George has an agenda, what that agenda is I don’t know,” Brown criticized.
