Hull City manager Steven Bruce has moved to reveal that England’s top clubs are casting admiring glances towards full-back Andrew Robertson.
The 20-year-old only joined the Tigers this summer from Dundee United, but he has enjoyed a bright start to his career in England.
Robertson made nine Premier League appearances for the club, while also impressing on international stage, starting two Euro 2016 qualifiers and scoring in a friendly defeat to England.
His club boss Steve Bruce admits fellow managers has been inquiring about Robertson, which is enough to suggest the youngster could soon be leaving KC Stadium for greener pastures.
“There has already been one or two with phone calls asking ‘to keep me informed’. That’s always the first stage,” Bruce said at a press conference ahead of the Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur.
“I had it with Palacios when I was at Wigan and then Valencia when he went off to Man Utd. And if this kid keeps performing the way he is then it might become inevitable.
“I spoke to Gordon (Strachan) about him in the summer. He threw him in against Nigeria for his first cap. He took to it like a duck to water, and he has done exactly the same when offered the challenge with us.”
Hull City host Tottenham Hotspur later today hoping to end a four-match winless run in the Premier League and the Tigers can be backed at 5/2 to pour more misery on their more illustrious opponents.
