Bruce set to leave Newcastle?

According to a recent report from the Mirror, Steve Bruce’s departure from Newcastle United could well be imminent.

That’s because the proposed Saudi-backed takeover could be completed as early as today, with the plan being for the club to move forward in a new direction with a new manager at the helm.

The idea that the Magpies want to freshen things up, especially with new owners, doesn’t seem particularly surprising. Bruce hasn’t been the man that fans have wanted to lead them for a long time and the man himself has seemed pretty resigned to that fact for a while.

There’s no real confirmation as to who is going to be brought in and the speculation hasn’t begun yet, but whoever takes on the role is likely to be part of something that could reach Manchester City levels of success – that is, if they can build back the trust of the fans.
