Bruce understands Grealish’s Tottenham disappointment

Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce has stated that he can understand why Jack Grealish may be disappointed with how the summer transfer window turned out for him. Grealish, 22, seemed eager to make the jump to North London in order to join Tottenham Hotspur – but Spurs were unable to meet the owner’s valuation of him and as a result, Jack will be remaining at Villa Park until at least January.

Grealish was said to be excited about the possibility of playing for Tottenham but in the end, they just couldn’t push the deal through. Keeping hold of him was a key factor in whether this season could be a successful one for many Villa fans, who will be jubilant that they’ve been able to land their man.

Alas, Bruce wasn’t born yesterday, admitting that he realises Tottenham are a huge club and he understands why any player would want to compete for them.
