(GSM) – Club Brugge failed to take full advantage of Anderlecht’s slip-up on Saturday, being held to a 1-1 draw at Zulte-Waregem themselves a day later.

Following Anderlecht’s 1-2 defeat by Sint-Truiden, Brugge aimed to reduce the gap with the leaders from nine to six points.

But Zulte-Waregem had different plans and took the lead through Emil Lyng after just eight minutes at Waregem’s Regenboog (rainbow) stadium.

Dorge Kouemaga levelled the score in the 22nd minute but Brugge never found the winning goal they were looking for. Instead, they had Karel Geraerts sent off with a direct red card on 70 minutes.
