(GSM) – Club Brugge continue to jump from one disaster to the next, losing their Sunday clash against Mechelen two goals to one.

After losing two of their previous three Belgian Pro League games, Brugge again failed to convince in their home match with Mechelen, who themselves are on a perfect winning streak.

The match at Brugge’s Jan Breydel stadium had been under way for 21 minutes when Kenny Van Hoevelen put joint leaders Mechelen in the lead, and Julien Gorius doubled the advantage from the penalty spot 15 minutes later.

Venezuelan Ronald Vargas did something back in the second half but it was not enough for Brugge to avoid another defeat.

Brugge were a man down for most of the match as Jonathan Blondel conceded a second yellow card in the 33rd minute.

Genk meanwhile, defended their lead and their perfect record in an away match to newcomers AS Eupen, who are yet to earn their first point of the season.

Ibrahima Camara (own goal), Torben Joneleit (2) and Jelle Vossen gave Genk a comfortable lead before Marko Obradovic got one back for a 1-4 final result.
