Club Brugge remain in first place in the Belgian Eerste Klasse thanks to a 1-2 win at RAEC Mons.

Mons did take the lead through Collet in the 22nd minute but Clement levelled in the 66th, for top striker Wesley Sonck to net the winner with just three minutes left to play.

Standard beat Excelsior Mouscron 3-1 to maintain pressure on Brugge, as the gap stands at only one point. De Camargo scored twice for Standard, and the remaining goal came from Jovanovic. Oussalah scored Mouscron’s only goal.

It was a rather disastrous event for Excelsior, who did not only lose the match but spent part of the game with only nine active players as Sapina and Assou-Ekotto were sent off.

RSC Anderlecht follow in third place at two points from the leaders. The Brussels outfit beat Westerlo 2-0 with goals from Boussoufa and Biglia.
