Fenerbahce defender Bruno Alves has emerged as the latest target for Sporting Lisbon, A Bola can reveal.

The Lions proved their ambition by luring coach Jorge Jesus from fierce rivals Benfica and the heavy summer recruitment looks set to begin.

Sporting have already been linked with several star players and they are now considering a move for Bruno Alves.

The national team defender could leave Fenerbahce one year before his contract is due to expire and chances are he will be tempted by the Lions’ project.

Jorge Jesus thinks highly of Bruno Alves and his leadership qualities and he will attempt to lure him to Estadio Jose Alvalade on a cut-price deal.

The 33-year-old made a name for himself at FC Porto, winning four league titles with the Dragons, before enjoying successful spells with Zenit and Fenerbahce, and a return to Portugal appears on the horizon for the experienced centre back.
