According to A Bola, Bruno Fernandes could be set to return to Sporting CP just weeks after it seemed like he was heading elsewhere. The current situation at the club, which has seen several high profile players hold out for a new deal, has threatened to cause a complete collapse as they attempt to keep the pace with sides like Benfica and Porto. Now, though, the return of Bruno Fernandes could serve as something of a silver lining for them.

Fernandes will be accepting an improved salary in order to remain at the club, with whom he spent the last year of his career. He averaged a goal every three games last season as the 23-year-old continues to get better and better, improving substantially from his time with Sampdoria.

The Portuguese sensation recently returned from Russia where he played a part in Portugal’s World Cup campaign, which came to an end when they lost to Uruguay.
