(GSM) – Gianluigi Buffon expects he will be able to play in Italy’s next World Cup match against New Zealand, on Sunday.
The talismanic goalkeeper was forced off at halftime of Italy’s draw against Paraguay.
Buffon felt a twinge in his back during the warm-up and went off at half-time.
“I thought that I had torn a muscle and ruined everything, but it turns out it was just a small strain of the sciatic nerve,” explained the Juventus goalie.
“I hope to recover in two days.”
