(GSM) – Rumors linking Gianluigi Buffon with a move to Manchester United have been fueled after the player missed out on the club’s official photograph session.

The first-team visited a photography studio in Turin for the official pictures for this season, but Buffon did not attend and his picture will therefore be digitally inserted into the photograph.

Tuttosport suggests Buffon has rarely been spotted at the Stadio Olimpico on match day.

The Italy goalkeeper has been out of action with a back injury after undergoing surgery following the World Cup.

He is expected to return in January at the earliest.

Manchester United are interested in finding a replacement for 40-year-old keeper Edwin van der Sar and could move for Buffon when the winter’s transfer window opens.
