Buffon moves closer to Juventus return

According to a recent report from Sky Italy, Gianluigi Buffon is on the verge of rejoining Italian champions Juventus on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain. The 41 year old spent almost two decades with Juventus before his switch over to France, and now, he is set to return. A lot of clubs had been suggested in regards to where Buffon may end up next, in what will almost certainly be the final ‘big move’ of his illustrious career. The World Cup winner will serve as a second in command at Juve, which is understandable, but he’s still an incredibly important presence to have around a club as big as Juventus.

This upcoming season is set to be a big one for them as they go in search of European glory, after years of coming up short. Cristiano Ronaldo will be leading the charge on the pitch, but in terms of influential figures, Buffon is going to be right up there with the Portuguese star.
