Veteran goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon is set to sign a new contract with Juventus, according to Sky Sports.
The 36 year old is edging towards his five hundredth appearance for the Old Lady having joined them for a record fee from Parma over thirteen years ago, though his current deal is set to expire at the end of the season.
The proposed new terms would keep him with the Turin club until the end of the 2016/17 campaign, which would give him the opportunity to break Alessandro Del Piero’s record of 478 Serie A games for the club.
During his time at Juve, Buffon has won a host of club honours while at international level he played every minute of Italy’s victorious 2006 World Cup campaign.
Juventus travel to Olympiakos in the Champions League this evening, looking to extend their lead at the top of Group A, and can be backed at 10/11 to take all three points.
