CSKA Sofia extended their unbeaten run in all competitions to 10 with a 2-0 away win at Beroe in the Bulgarian Premier League on Sunday.

Their opponents were also in good form, having won the last two in a row. It set the scene for an exciting match at the Stadion Beroe.

But the highly fancied visitors were simply too good, with both goals coming in the last ten minutes of the first half.

Much-travelled Brazilian striker Michel Platini opened the scoring after 36 minutes and just six minutes later CSKA Sofia were celebrating again, thanks to a goal from newly capped Bulgaria striker Spas Delev.

Beroe could not get a goal back in the second half to make things interesting as they missed a chance to climb to fifth, with CSKA Sofia remaining in third.

In the day’s other match, Kaliakra were 1-0 home winners against Rakovski, thanks to left-back Detelin Dimitrov’s 70th minute strike.
