Augsburg claimed their first point of the new Bundesliga season with a 0-0 draw against Wolfsburg on Friday night.
In a match of few highlights, neither side was able to break the deadlock in what was a dour battle played mainly in the midfield.
Aristide Bance gave visitors Wolfsburg plenty of headaches early, his shot after 10 minutes just being deflected over the crossbar.
Coming off a 4-0 thrashing by Hannover, Wolfsburg barely troubled the Augsburg defence apart from a tame effort by Deigo, whose shot was easily saved by goalkeeper Mohamed Amsif.
It was more of the same in the second half, with both sides seemingly content to pass the ball around with no intent on scoring.
Thomas Kahlenberg and Ivica Olic both had late chances to give the visitors the lead but neither player could beat the Augsburg keeper.
