Maccabi Tel Aviv forward Eran Zahavi is being heavily linked with a January move to German Bundesliga, according to Bild.
Hannover appear to be leading the chase for his signature as the 96ers are desperate to reinforce their attack in the winter.
With the team having scored mere 13 goals in as many league games, sporting director Christian Mockel and general manager Martin Bader have set their sights on the Israeli star.
And with Zahavi’s current deal due to expire at the end of the season, Hannover are eager to wrap up the deal as quickly as possible, before other Bundesliga clubs have time to act.
The problem is that Maccabi Tel Aviv are holding out for €5 million, but they will probably be forced to lower the asking price.
Eran Zahavi has been one of Europe’s most prolific forwards in recent years, having scored impressive 74 goals in 95 league matches since joining from Palermo.
