Russian daily newspaper Izvestia understands that a host of Germany’s top clubs are keeping close tabs on CSKA Moscow full-back Mario Fernandes.
The Brazilian defender has impressed in Russian Premier League and he is widely tipped for a summer move to one of Europe’s top leagues.
According to Izvestia, a switch to German Bundesliga appears on the horizon, with Schalke, Wolfsburg and Bayer Leverkusen reportedly keen.
The 23-year-old missed the start of the season through a knee injury, but he has been in fine form since returning to the starting line-up. Fernandes has started 10 Russian Premier League games this season and was only substituted once.
He had been earlier linked with a number of Europe’s top clubs, but the €10.5 million asking price proved to be an obstacle to any deal.
Fernandes has a contract until June 2017 in Moscow, but he could be moving clubs as early as this summer.
