Mainz hotshot Yunus Malli could be leaving the Bundesliga high flyers for greener pastures in the January transfer window, according to his official representative.
The 24-year-old has emerged as one of the hottest commodities in Germany’s top flight and he has been performing at a very high level for several years now.
After bagging 11 league goals last term, Malli has already managed 8 goals and 6 assists in all competitions this season, and no wonder he is being linked with a January exit.
Considering that the midfielder’s current contract is due to expire in June 2018, the upcoming transfer window is probably final chance for Mainz to secure a substantial transfer fee, with Borussia Dortmund expected to reignite their interest in the Turkey international.
Malli’s uncle and agent Ilhan admits that January exit is a realistic possibility.
“If interesting offers arrive, we will get together”, the player’s representative told Bild.
Yunus Malli had come through the youth ranks at Borussia M’gladbach, but he went on to join Mainz on a free transfer in July 2011.
