Werder Bremen defender Sebastian Prodl has revealed that he is talking to interested clubs as he prepares to leave Weserstadion in the summer.
The Austrian defender is currently in the final year of his contract with the Bundesliga giants and he is widely tipped to leave the club at the end of the season.
The 24-year-old is held in high regard by a number of Italian Serie A clubs, including Lazio, Roma and Fiorentina.
Speaking about the reported interest from the aforementioned clubs to Transfermarkt TV, Prodl has refused to name the clubs that have contacted him so far.
“My situation has not changed, for the moment. My contract with Werder expires this summer and, of course, in the background there is contact and there are talks,” Prodl was quoted as saying.
“I’m dealing with both Werder and other teams, I do not deny it. So far though we will not be discussing any details, I will not reveal any more.”
Prodl joined Werder in a €2.5 million deal from Sturm Graz in July 2008 and has since developed into one of the best Bundesliga defenders.
The towering defender, who can also act as a holding midfielder, has managed to score 2 goals in 14 Bundesliga appearances this season.
