Bottom side Kaiserslautern snapped a four-game losing streak when they held eighth-placed Stuttgart 0-0 in the Bundesliga on Friday.
The visitors were not expected to take anything away from their trip to the Mercedes-Benz-Arena, but they nabbed a point to move within three points of Hertha Berlin in 15th, and relegation safety.
The stalemate was a missed chance for Bruno Labbadia’s side to make ground on the top six, as they are now three points shy of sixth-placed Werder Bremen.
Stuttgart face a trip to Hoffenheim next Friday in the league, while Kaiserslautern are at home to Schalke on Sunday.
