(GSM) – Roma centre-back Nicolas Burdisso has hoped his side to beat Inter on Saturday and win the Serie A title.
The Argentina international is currently on loan from the Nerazzurri and has spoken of his desire to stay in the capital next season.
Speaking to Il Corriere dello Sport, Burdisso said, “It’s useless to waste a lot of words on what this game means. The match against Inter is a title decider.”
“We only have to win it. And I am convinced that Roma have all the qualities to do it. Two great teams will face off. I said it when I arrived in Trigoria, and I confirm it today.”
“Roma haven’t at all surprised me for the comeback that we have managed to do. As for the rest, even Mourinho has always said and considered Roma to be a title rival.”
“Now we find the two teams in front of each other playing for the title. We can win. The fans will give us an extraordinary boost,” said with confidence.
He said it would be amazing that playing in front of spectators, “It will be wonderful to play in a stadium full of people and enthusiasm. We will have to be clever to exploit the push the city has given us.”
Burdisso remembered the time he spent at Inter, “It’s evident that for me, it will be a special game. I have played with Inter for five years. They have all been wonderful. I have great memories and also great relationships with everyone, from Massimo Moratti to Mourinho and my former teammates.”
“I have always said that I have never hidden how happy I am to wear the Roma shirt. I have already said that I would like to stay,” he said.
With confidence he said his team should beat Inter, “We’ll see what will happen in June. Now the only important thing is to beat Inter.”
Roma are unbeaten in 20 games in Serie A and currently lays four points behind Inter ahead of the League leaders’ visit to the Olimpico tomorrow.
