Burdisso wants win over Werder Bremen

Inter ace Nicolas Burdisso wants to beat Werder Bremen today, in order to finish top spot in Champions League Group B.

Burdisso admits he is also keen to avoid meeting Spanish giants Barcelona.

“Sooner or later we must meet everyone, but there is one team that everyone in Europe wants to avoid and that is Barcelona,” Burdisso said.

“Now we are focused on Bremen because we want to win to make sure we finish first in the group. I think we deserve it.

“We have to try and forget the bad match against Panathinaikos and we can demonstrate the value of our squad.”

The Argentine stopper made several errors in the 3-3 draw earlier in Inter’s Champions League campaign.

“I want to show what I am capable of, especially after the way I played in Cyprus,” he said.

“That’s in the past, even though it has left me with a strong desire for redemption.

“I have always worked hard for the team and I’ve been lucky to win a lot. But I never look backwards – the past is the past.”
