Burnely and Derby keen on Johnstone deal

Championship promotion hopefuls Burnley and Derby County are keen to sign Sam Johnstone on loan from Manchester United next season, according to the Mail Online.

The goalkeeper is currently on loan with Doncaster Rovers, where he has kept four clean sheets in ten appearances, while he also played once for Yeovil Town earlier in the campaign.

He has previously had temporary spells with Walsall and Scunthorpe United, but is yet to make a senior appearance for United despite being named in the match-day squad on several occasions, including twice in the Champions League last season.

Internationally, he has represented England at U19 and U20 levels, playing every minute of the Three Lions campaign in last summer’s U20 World Cup in Turkey.

Johnstone is expected to keep his place in Paul Dickov’s starting line-up for Saturday afternoon’s match at Leeds United, where he is priced at 7/2 to keep a clean sheet.
