Burnley 5/4 to beat Stoke in Tuesday’s Premier League game

Competition: Premier League

Market: Burnley to beat Stoke

Odds: 5/4 @ Bet365

The Premier League returns almost immediately with a round of midweek games that means the action is pretty much non-stop this week. The weekend saw all manner of surprising results, and each team’s 17th game will likely do the same. With this in mind, highflying Burnley host Stoke on Tuesday evening.

Burnley have been outstanding this season and they look like a very tough proposition to beat. In their last five games they have won three times and lost twice, which has helped them to collect 28 points from their 16 games. At this stage of the season, they are level on points with Arsenal. Of course, the Gunners have a game in hand, but Burnley will be hugely pleased with how their season is progressing. Considering their primary objective this season would have been to survive, the fact that they are just 12 points shy of the supposed safety of 40 points with just 16 games gone is very impressive.

Stoke have been struggling massively this season. Mark Hughes’ men have won just one game in their last five, losing three and drawing the other. In their last match, they were hammered 5-1 by Tottenham as they rarely threatened to take anything from the game. 19 goals scored is a fairly good record, but they have conceded 35 times, the most of any team in the league. Something needs to change for Stoke and quickly, or else Mark Hughes will likely face further questions over his future with the club. With this in mind, we are backing Burnley with odds of 5/4 from Bet365.
