Premier League newcomers Burnley have made a bid for Swansea City’s Trinidad international striker Jason Scotland, the Championship club revealed.
Swansea signed Scotland in the summer of 2007, paying just 25,000 pounds to bring him from St Johnstone where he played under current Burnley boss Owen Coyle.
Last season, the 30-year-old, who has attracted a bid in excess of one million pounds, hit 24 goals for the Welsh side.
Chairman Huw Jenkins told the club’s official website: “Burnley have made an approach for Jason Scotland, but our valuation for a player who has finished our top scorer for the last two seasons is miles apart.
“We value Jason very highly; after all he has scored 53 goals in the last two seasons for us.”
