Burnley were properly thrashed at the hands of Manchester City in the Premier League on Monday evening, but the Clarets captain Ben Mee was more upset about the banner saying “White lives matter Burnley”.
Burnley immediately issued an official statement, saying that this act “in no way, represents what Burnley Football Club stands for”. They also made it clear that those responsible for it will no longer be welcome at Turf Moor.
