Burnley are considering bringing in a striker on loan before next Thursday’s deadline in order to provide cover for top scorer Danny Ings, Sky Sports understands.
The 21 year old missed only his second game of the season at the weekend after being side-lined with an ankle ligament problem, and whilst he himself initially stated that the injury is not serious, he is also set to sit out Saturday’s table topping clash with Leicester City, and his manager Sean Dyche does not want to leave himself short.
Ings has scored 25 goals in all competitions so far this season, with 20 of those coming in the Championship – form which saw him named the division’s Player of the Year at the Football League Awards on Sunday.
The Clarets currently sit seven points behind Leicester in the second tier having played a game more, but have a ten point advantage over third place Derby County.
