Burnley have no intention of moving in to re-sign former striker Danny Ings from Liverpool, according to Lancashire Telegraph.
Ings recently made his decision to leave Anfield in search of first-team football. The striker has endured a torrid time with injuries since his move from Burnley to Liverpool in 2015, suffering ligament damage on one knee after the other. He has therefore been forced to miss much football while the Reds have been forced to plan their seasons without him. Now they have a very formidable attacking trio, and his role in the team is far from an important one. Meanwhile, there is no doubt that the 25-year-old (turning 26 next month) needs to be playing regularly after his long absences.
A number of Premier League clubs are interested and Liverpool won’t stand in his way even though they would like to keep him. Burnley have been tipped as his most likely destination, but the Clarets seem more intent on bringing back another former striker – Jay Rodriguez from West Bromwich Albion.
