Burnley are keen to make a £2m move for Aston Villa defender Nathan Baker, according to the Mail Online.
The twenty-four year old, who has one year remaining on his current deal, has racked up eighty-four appearances for the Midlands club since breaking into their first team in the 2010/11 campaign while he has also had loan spells with Lincoln City and Millwall.
Internationally, he has been capped at every level from England U19s to England U21s, appearing in all of his countries games at the 2011 Under 20 World Cup.
He played just twice for the Villains last season, and his chances look to be more limited following the arrivals of Micah Richards and Jose Angel Crespo.
Burnley boss Sean Dyche is keen to bring in reinforcements for his back line after losing Kieran Trippier to Tottenham Hotspur and Jason Shackell to fellow Championship promotion hopefuls Derby County.
