Burnley move for Paterson

Burnley have made an approach to sign Nottingham Forest winger Jamie Paterson, according to Sky Sports.

The 23 year old moved to the City Ground two years ago, and has since racked up sixty-four appearances in all competitions, scoring thirteen goals – three of which came in a 5-0 FA Cup third win over West Ham United last January.

However he started just four league games last season and scored just once, when the East Midlands outfit beat Fulham 5-3 back in September.

Wolverhampton Wanderers had been linked with a move for the former Walsall man back in January and now Burnley, who are looking to immediately bounce back to the top flight, have entered the race to secure his services.

Having finished second from bottom in the Premier League last season, Sean Dyche’s side can be backed at a price of 9/2 to be promoted by any means next May.
