(GSM) – Burnley have issued a statement to deny they are seeking a replacement for manager Brian Laws. A newspaper report had suggested that the club were getting impatient with Laws and are looking at potential successors.
Since the departing of Owen Coyle, Laws’ Burnley reign brought one win from ten games and consequently the manager has been under-pressure.
However, claims from the Sun have been categorically rebuffed by the club in a statement that brands the report ‘ludicrous, irresponsible, damaging and inaccurate’.
Kilby said, via an official club statement, “This is a ludicrous, irresponsible, damaging and inaccurate piece of journalism.
“We are not in the process of looking for a replacement for Brian and everyone involved with Burnley Football Club is putting every ounce of effort into staying in the Premier League.”
