(GSM) – Burnley have signed Hull City midfielder Dean Marney for an undisclosed fee.
The former Tottenham player has two years remaining on his contract at the KC Stadium and he has made the switch for a fee thought to be around £500,000.
The 26-year-old has agreed a three-year deal at Turf Moor and become manager Brian Laws’ first new signing of the summer.
“Midfielder is an area we wanted to strengthen and for a young age he has a lot of experience,” the Clarets boss Brian Laws revealed.
“Dean has played for two years in the Premier League so he knows what is required.
“He is a box-to-box player, full of energy, and his link play with the midfield and forwards is exceptional.
“His pedigree, coming from Tottenham, shows that he can play and he will be a great addition to the squad,” Laws explained.
Marney, who scored nine times in 138 appearances during four years at Tigers, will officially join Burnley on 1 July.
