Burnley take Lindegaard on trial

Burnley have taken former Manchester United goalkeeper Anders Lindergaard on trial, according to the Mail Online.

The Clarets are on the lookout for a new goalkeeper with first choice shot stopper Tom Heaton ruled out for the foreseeable future with a dislocated shoulder.

The thirty-one year old has played all but three of the Lancashire club’s one hundred and seventy-two league appearances since he signed from Bristol City, and has worked his way into the England squad in that time but this setback is set to keep him on the sidelines until next year.

Lindegaard has been without a club since leaving Preston North End in the summer and boasts Premier League experience having played ten times in Manchester United’s title winning 2012/13 campaign.

Should he agree a deal with the Clarets, he will compete with Nick Pope, who replaced Heaton in Sunday’s 1-0 win over Crystal Palace for a starting berth.
