(GSM) – Turkish league leaders Bursaspor suffered a set back on Friday as a slow start cost them in a 2-1 loss to Istanbul Buyuksehir.

Bursaspor came into the day with a five-point lead atop the table following Monday’s win, but the quick turnaround seemed to have them dazed in their visit to Istanbul.

That allowed Istanbul to go in front after just eight minutes when Polish defender Marcin Kus pounced in the area to put his side 1-0 up.

It got worse for Bursaspor on the half-hour when Hasan Ali Durtuluk’s goal doubled the lead and left Bursaspor reeling.

The visitors finally came to life in the second half and pulled one back on 79 minutes through Volkan Sen.

But they got no closer and could see their lead slashed to two if Galatasaray beat Fenerbahçe on Sunday.
