(GSM) – Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets is staying calm ahead of the awaited negotiations he will hold with his club over a new contract.
Busquets has made a significant and quick progress since breaking into the Barcelona first-team from the club’s youth ranks.
He is now a key player in the side and also featured in Spain’s victorious World Cup campaign this summer.
But despite Busquet’s importance in the Barca squad, he remains one of the lowest earning players in the club’s squad list and he is therefore keen to begin negotiations over a contract extension.
The 22-year-old is happy to wait for the Catalan club’s approach in order to evaluate the offer.
“I want to know the offer from Barcelona and evaluate this,” he said.
“I am calm because I have waited two years.”
Busquets has snubbed rumors of interest from foreign clubs, insisting: “My head is in Barca.”
