Hans-Jorg Butt says Bayern Munich are not concerned at their 2-0 Champions League defeat to Manchester City on Wednesday.
Bayern had already secured top spot in Group A ahead of the match at Etihad Stadium and fielded several reserve team members against City.
Among the fringe players handed a start was experienced shot-stopper Butt, who is behind Manuel Neuer in the goalkeeping pecking order.
Goals from David Silva and Yaya Toure saw the hosts come out on top, although they failed to secure qualification to the knockout stages.
And despite his team’s defeat, Butt was pleased that the squad’s fringe players were given a run-out.
“I think we can live with the result. It is important for these players who do not usually start to have practice at this level,” Butt told UEFA.
“City are a great team, they are first in the English league and it was a very difficult group. We played very well.”
“We’ve played a very good season until now, we are also in first position in the Bundesliga and have a big dream to play the (Champions League) final in our stadium in Munich in May next year, although it will be a hard journey.”
The Champions League final takes place at Bayern’s Allianz Arena on May 19 2012.
