According to a recent report from L’Equipe, former Newcastle United and Crystal Palace star Yohan Cabaye is set to re-enter the world of professional football by joining Saint-Etienne on a free transfer. The 33 year old club has not had an actual club since back in January, but now, he’s ready to make an impact at the top level of French football once again.
Cabaye was once highly regarded as one of the most exciting and underrated midfielders in European football, which was quite the praise given the talent on display during his generation and time at the top.
While he may be moving towards the back-end of his career, there is certainly still room for a player like Yohan to thrive and succeed, especially in a division that isn’t considered to be quite as difficult as some of the bigger alternatives around the European game like Bundesliga, Premier League and Serie A.
