Cabaye joins Saint-Etienne

Yohan Cabaye is back in the saddle! The French midfielder will be making a return to his native country, as he has agreed to join AS Saint Etienne! It was announced on Tuesday by the Ligue 1 club that Cabaye is their new player and he is joining them on a free transfer.

The last days of the summer transfer window proved to be good to Saint Etienne. They are getting an experienced midfielder, whose previous club was Al-Nasr. However, a negative fact in this story is that Cabaye had left Asia as far back as January and has been without the club since. He will probably need some time before he is able to truly help Saint Etienne this season.

Cabaye is 33 years old and has previously played for Lille, Newcastle United, Paris Saint-Germain and Crystal Palace. The contract he has signed is just for the current season and it will last through June 2020.
