Cabaye set for Premiership return
A host of Premier League clubs are showing interest in Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Yohan Cabaye, according to The Guardian.
Having failed to prove his worth at Parc des Princes, the France international is eager to leave the Saints in search of first team football, and a return to English Premier League appears on the cards.
According to the latest reports, Crystal Palace are in talks with PSG as they hope to lure Cabaye to Selhurst Park, with the player currently valued at £10 million.
However, the Eagles are not the only Premiership side keen on the 29-year-old, with the likes of Tottenham, Southampton and West Ham also in the mix.
The heavy interest in the midfielder’s services is hardly surprising considering that he enjoyed two and a half very successful years at St James’ Park, having joined from Lille.
Cabaye made a total of 79 Premier League appearances for Newcastle, scoring 17 goals and producing 13 assists.
Inter close on Stevan Jovetic
Italian giants Inter Milan have moved a step closer to recruiting Manchester City forward Stevan Jovetic, Tuttosport has suggested.
The Nerazzurri have been keen on the Montenegrin forward for a couple of years now, but they finally stand a decent chance of luring him to Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.
Namely, Inter Milan officials met with Jovetic’s agent Fali Ramadani yesterday afternoon and they have agreed to work together in an attempt to persuade Manchester City to let him leave this summer.
The Nerazzurri hope to sign the forward on loan with an option to buy, and the Citizens may be interested in such an arrangement.
Inter Milan plan to seriously reinforce the playing squad this summer and they have so far splashed €40 million on midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia.
Stevan Jovetic could become the second major signing of the transfer window, while Zdravko Kuzmanovic left the club to return to FC Basel.
Lille agree deal for Kanon
Lille are on the verge of signing Ivorian defender Wilfried Kanon from ADO Den Haag, the Dutch club have announced via their Twitter account.
Les Dogues were looking to sign a replacement for Simon Kjaer and they are now set to recruit the player their new coach Herve Renard knows all too well.
The pair worked together to help the Ivory Coast national team lift the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations trophy and will now be reunited at Grand Stade Lille Metropole.
Kanon is currently undergoing a medical in Lille and will sign a four-year deal with the Ligue 1 side bar any surprises.
The well travelled defender has already represented Gloria Bistrita, Corona Brasov and ADO Den Haag, while exploding onto the biggest stage at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.
Kanon, 21, should slot straight into the starting line-up at Lille, forming a defensive partnership with experienced centre-back Marko Basa.
