Cagliari president Massimo Cellino has surprised everyone by admitting that star midfielder Radja Nainggolan will be leaving in January.
The Isolani have so far resisted temptation to cash in on their star player, with a number of clubs put off by the high asking price, but it appears they have finally come to terms with losing the Belgium international.
Speaking after yesterday’s 1-1 draw with Napoli, chairman Massimo Cellino confirmed Nainggolan was free to leave the club.
“Nainggolan will definitely go. Not even in January, he can go tomorrow,” Cellino told reporters.
“He has six or seven clubs looking for him and I can’t keep hold of him again. It’s not an issue of money, as even if they give me less than his price-tag, he’ll still go. If he doesn’t want to go, I’ll send him away.”
The Cagliari president was visibly disappointed by the fact that ongoing reconstruction of Stadio Sant’Elia means that it can only accommodate 5,000 fans.
His statements will, nonetheless, be music to ears of the interested sides that include Juventus, AC Milan and Inter Milan.
The Rossoneri appear to be leading the chase at the moment, but they will have more important things on their minds today seeing as how they contest a local derby against Inter, where they are 13/8 to emerge victorious.
