(GSM) – Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle hopes to keep Gary Cahill at the club as long as he can despite acknowledging that the player will one day ‘outgrow’ the club.
Coyle admits that there will come a day that will see the Trotters unable to resist an offer for England defender.
Coyle says the defender’s stock is rising despite staying on the bench for England’s clash against Switzerland.
Cahill told the Bolton News: “There will come a day, and I hope it doesn’t come in January, that Gary Cahill will probably outgrow the club, given the finance involved in it.
“I firmly believe that he could play for any of the top four clubs. And if that day comes then Gary would go with our blessing because he’s been a terrific servant.
“There is no doubt about his quality and consistency. He is different class when he does the simple things well and I think he will go on to have a fantastic international career.”
