(GSM) – Bayern München striker Mario Gomez will be out for two or three weeks after picking up a calf injury in the Champions League match with Fiorentina last night.
Bayern announced on their official website that Gomez ruptured a muscle in his calf.
The 24-year-old striker sustained the injury midway through the first half in Florence and limped off after 30 minutes, to be replaced by Germany team-mate Miroslav Klose.
Gomez, Bayern’s top scorer, is set to miss the Bundesliga matches against Freiburg and Eintracht Frankfurt.
He will be back in contention for the home Bundesliga fixture against his former club VfB Stuttgart on 27 March at the earliest.
