According to a recent report from Calciomercato, AC Milan star Hakan Calhanoglu is set to sign for Leicester City ahead of Arsenal during the upcoming summer transfer window. Milan are willing to let him leave for a fee of around €20 million, and with 12 months remaining on his contract once we roll around to June, they might be smart to cash in now while they still can.
The Foxes are starting to slowly but surely improve their presence on the world stage, and that includes their overall reputation as one of English football’s biggest clubs. That’s something they failed to do even after they won the Premier League back in 2016, but now that they’re set to return to the Champions League, it seems like everyone is waking up to the fact that they’re here to stay.
If they can get this deal done, it’ll serve as a huge statement of intent from Brendan Rodgers.
